In the pushing and prodding, words and images light up disruption, unveil patterns, reveal fractures, reorient our gaze, and face what has been hiding behind our own families, institutions, states, handshakes, and silences. I want my work to be the aperture thru which one can witness fracture and take one’s proper place in it, without surrender, without crumbling, and without destroying the vestiges of connection.
Allow these pieces to settle, hold, and ultimately transform what was once abandoned, weave us all back into rightful place, to stand in witness, to all that we have done and not done, pretended not to see and turned away from knowing. Let these works illuminate our role in collective unseeing, culturally approved and socially enforced Silence. We are made for more than this scrapin’ it out, elbow the neighbor out the way, not enough collective mindset. Get up and get to gittin’.
